GoGo Penguin

GoGo Penguin as a trio at Den Atelier, Luxembourg, on 16 October 2026. Born in Manchester, the band comprises Chris Illingworth on piano, Nick Blacka on double bass and Jon Scott on drums. Their playground is acoustic jazz threaded with electronics and minimalism, where repetitive motifs, melodic bass lines and fragmented rhythms meet echoes of trip hop, breakbeat and film music.

On stage the trio works textures and dynamics without artifice, drawing a wide range of nuance from piano, double bass and drums. The compositions — drawn notably from Fanfares, v2.0, Man Made Object, A Humdrum Star, GoGo Penguin, Ocean in a Drop, Between Two Waves and Everything Is Going to Be OK — are rearranged for an acoustic live format that brings out detail and groove.

The set moves between hypnotic pulses and clear melodies, with a sense of tempo that naturally slips between jazz heritage and club influences. A direct portrait of GoGo Penguin's aesthetic, conceived for the stage.
