Bathed by the Souths (both geographical and imagined), Margaux Simone’s new album is an invitation to travel, navigating between the (deep) meaning of “things” and the (joyful) passing of time, all to better believe in life. Armed with her warm, reassuring voice over sometimes western-tinged guitars, she brings together both Françoise Hardy and Stevie Nicks to sketch a personal map with precise, poetic and tender words that dress her visions—drawn from a golden age she revives in the present with sonorities under the influence of Lana Del Rey. This familiar pop-musical land does exist: she calls it the Provençal California. Margaux Simone and Sophie Oz will perform on 30 June 2026 at 6:30 PM at La Dame de Canton.

In just a few notes, Sophie Oz transports us into a repertoire where melody holds a central place. To give birth to her first album in French, she needed to allow herself the time essential to live and to write, enriching herself through encounters and collaborations with other artists (Rover, Daphné). That is how she created Songe, a collection of nine tracks with a dreamlike atmosphere whose writing reveals an inner world rich in emotions. Sophie composed them on piano, an instrument dear to her heart, which is both the DNA and the backbone of her music.
