Boston Manor play Manchester on 7 December 2026 at Gorilla, with a set that traces their shift from pop-punk roots to a darker alternative edge. Formed in Blackpool in 2013, the quintet first made their name with emo-leaning melodies and direct hooks, before refining the formula on their debut Be Nothing in 2016. Two years later, Welcome to the Neighbourhood opened a more atmospheric, tense space for the band, where guitars got moodier and the writing grew sharper.

That evolution kept moving with Glue in 2020 and the EP Desperate Times Desperate Pleasures in 2021, adding grain and texture to their sound. Datura in 2022 and Sundiver in 2024 sketched out two complementary sides, from nocturnal pressure to brighter release, a contrast that now structures their shows. On stage, Henry Cox’s voice cuts through layered guitars and a rhythm section that swings between punch and slow-burn pulse. The night leans across their catalogue, from early pop-punk sparks to recent, more abrasive and urban material, carried by choruses built to stick and arrangements that keep the tension simmering without overplaying it.
