Il Est Vilaine

Il Est Vilaine, a duo from the Paris electronic scene, moves midway between the club and a rock inheritance. On April 1, 2027 at La Machine du Moulin Rouge (18th arrondissement, Paris), they will present a set centered on their dark disco and slow techno, informed by post-punk, cold wave and imagined film scores. Restrained tempos, repetitive basslines, dark textures and narrative atmospheres structure their pieces, oscillating between a dancefloor pulse and tracks closer to song form. The group regularly incorporates guest vocalists who shift the project toward an off-kilter pop without losing touch with the nocturnal culture it comes from. On stage, Il Est Vilaine alternates between electronic live performance and DJ set—complementary formats that leave room for hypnotic constructions and a club dynamic. At La Machine, the duo will propose a hybrid, unmediated setup that foregrounds their sense of sonic storytelling and the slow tension that sustains the night.
