The son of a Texas pastor, he is born and raised in the Deep South of the United States, against a backdrop of gospel music. Originally expected to follow in his father’s footsteps, Reverend James Leg ultimately decides to preach in another way.
He plays blues on a Fender Rhodes electric piano. The sound is often gritty, but the instrument exudes a groove that defines Leg’s music. Reverend James Leg performs a 1970s rock that oozes bourbon and stale tobacco. The sound is raw, and the musician’s voice sounds like a torrent of gravel.
