Dagny

On 29 January 2027 Dagny performs at Melkweg, Amsterdam. The Norwegian singer-songwriter, full name Dagny Norvoll Sandvik, grew up in Tromsø in a musical family and moved to the United Kingdom in the early 2010s, first to Liverpool and later to London. After starting out with more acoustic and folk-pop oriented songs, her sound shifted toward direct, melodic and rhythmic pop in which indie pop, synth-pop, dance-pop, electropop and a touch of disco intersect. Her breakthrough came in 2015 with “Backbeat,” followed by singles such as “Wearing Nothing” and “Love You Like That”; the latter formed the basis for Katy Perry’s “Never Really Over,” for which Dagny is credited as a co-writer.

With the albums Strangers / Lovers (2020) and Elle (2024) she refines that approach: light, clearly constructed melodies with a distinct melancholic undercurrent, driven by sharp hooks and production that isn’t afraid to take center stage. In addition to her solo work, Dagny has collaborated with the likes of Seeb, Steve Aoki, Kygo and Astrid S, and has continued to perform frequently, from clubs to festivals in Norway and the United Kingdom. In Amsterdam she brings that mix of danceable pop and subdued emotion to the stage, presenting new material alongside the songs that established her name.
