Sloan bring their four-way power-pop engine to Bala on July 4, 2026 at The KEE to Bala. Formed in Halifax and now based in Toronto, Chris Murphy, Jay Ferguson, Patrick Pentland and Andrew Scott share songwriting and lead vocals, which gives the show a shifting feel while keeping the same core: melodic guitars, tight rhythms and close harmonies.

Live, the band moves between moods and tempos, threading Smeared-era textures into the crisp pop of Twice Removed and One Chord to Another, the heavier charge of Navy Blues, and the broader palette of later records like Never Hear the End of It, Commonwealth, 12 and Steady. Short hooks sit next to longer suites, with easy nods to 60s and 70s rock, all held together by the group’s collective sense of balance.

No frills, no big gestures—just songs carried by four distinct voices that meet in the middle. A set built from three decades of writing, played with the kind of chemistry that comes from doing it together for a long time.
