Lowertown

Lowertown, a New York-based duo made up of Olivia Osby and Avsha Weinberg, arrive at Rome’s Wishlist Club on September 26, 2026, with a set that centers on Ugly Duckling Union, the new chapter of their story. After a long, necessary reset, the project reopened to freer, more reflective songwriting: a concept that follows Dale, a duckling who, with friends, opposes a media corporation intent on dividing people. Around this narrative, the two have built a small shared universe of comics, lore and playable worlds — a sign of an idea of community that crosses music and imagery.

In concert, Lowertown’s melancholic sensibility shifts toward a rougher indie rock without losing its taste for intimate passages and acoustic moments. The new songs tackle indecision, shame and love with a more aware perspective and a restrained irony, while Olivia’s voice and Avsha’s arrangements play on contrasts between distorted guitars and clearer melodic lines. Everything remains homemade, in the spirit of an independent, artisanal approach where the idea of community — and of feeling like outsiders — becomes the key to the live show.
