Formed in London in 2017, Green Lung arrives in Hamburg for a show on December 10, 2026 at Große Freiheit 36. The British band traces its path between doom metal, stoner and hard rock in a distinctly English-tinged style, with keyboards pushed to the fore and writing that loves dense riffs as much as memorable choruses. Around singer Tom Templar, Green Lung first kicked off the machine with the demo Green Man Rising and then the EP Free the Witch, before settling into a quintet with the arrival of John Wright on keyboards.
Since Woodland Rites (2019), the sound has come into its own: heavy rock nourished by classic rock, yet anchored in a very UK metal tradition. Black Harvest (2021) and This Heathen Land (2023) dig deeper along the same thread, with imagery woven from rural folklore, paganism and British folk horror. On stage, Green Lung plays with this tension between dark atmospheres and frontal energy, right at the crossroads of metal circuits and heavy psych.
