Info
Since last year, a shipping container has been traveling across Europe: it is presenting an exhibition of paintings by Gaza-based artist Ahmed Muhanna, notably painted on World Food Programme (WFP) food packaging. Next stop in Paris: 27 May 2026 at 8:00 on the forecourt of the Institut du Monde Arabe.
The WFP chose Ahmed Muhanna’s paintings for this travelling exhibition to raise public awareness of the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The exhibition brings together more than 60 original paintings, many of them created on WFP food packaging. Each work is accompanied by multilingual captions offering reflections on the scenes depicted.
To immerse visitors in the artist’s world, a video interview with Ahmed Muhanna is played throughout the exhibition, alongside an explanatory panel about the exhibition’s context. A WFP spokesperson in Palestine will be present during the exhibition to guide visitors and answer their questions.
