LSD and the Search for God

LSD and the Search for God bring their San Francisco shoegaze haze to Birmingham on 15 October 2026 at The Castle & Falcon. Since 2005, the band has shaped a heady blend of swirling guitars, otherworldly drones and fuzzed pop hooks, with soft-focus vocal harmonies riding the noise. Early shows and recordings drew lines to My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Yo La Tengo, Spacemen 3 and Sonic Youth, but the group carves its own balance of volume and drift, building live passages that slip from hushed shimmer to dense, layered surges.

Their self-titled debut EP sketched the template in five succinct tracks; “Starting Over” in particular crystallizes their method with submerged voices and a guitar dialogue that toggles between intimacy and a broad wall of sound. A decade later, the Heaven Is a Place EP stretched those textures with slower pulses and melancholic melodies. On stage, LSD and the Search for God lean into immersion: interlocking feedback, patient rhythms and melodic phrases hidden in the fog. The result is a set where contours blur and hooks surface gradually, a detailed trip through their catalogue played loud and enveloping.
