Hannah Cohen plays Strange Brew in Bristol on 20 August 2026. Born in San Francisco and long based in New York, the singer-songwriter carves out a folk-rooted, melody-first sound that slips into chamber pop, soft rock and light psychedelic shades. Her debut Child Bride (2012), produced by Thomas Bartlett, set the tone alongside New York collaborators such as Sam Amidon and Rob Moose. She followed with Pleasure Boy (2015) and Welcome Home (2019), produced by Sam Owens (Sam Evian), widening the palette toward more organic textures and a roomier approach to songwriting. In 2025, Cohen released Earthstar Mountain, recorded at Flying Cloud, the studio she shares with Owens, further refining that blend of clarity, intimacy and detail.

On stage, she lets the songs breathe, focusing on contour and atmosphere rather than ornament. Expect a set that moves through her catalogue, from early, whisper-close pieces to the newer material’s broader horizons, with melodies kept firmly at the center.
