Todd Terry

Todd Terry touches down in Hackney on 19 June 2026 at Night Tales, channeling the stripped-back New York house sound he helped shape. Brooklyn-born and raised on hip-hop, disco and funk, the Grammy-nominated DJ and producer cut his teeth at the end of the 80s with sample-heavy club tracks released under his own name and aliases like Royal House and Black Riot. His style — chopped vocal stabs, rugged drum programming, tight basslines — bridged NYC house and early hip-house and travelled fast across both sides of the Atlantic.

Through the 90s and beyond he became a trusted remixer for pop and alternative acts, notably Everything But The Girl, while expanding his own catalogue with 12-inches and albums such as Ready for a New Day and Resolutions. Still active behind the decks and in the studio, Terry builds sets that connect classic underground cuts, his enduring productions and the disco and hip-hop grooves that feed them.
