Brockley Max community arts festival will celebrate its 25th year with an outdoor show in our garden. Theon Cross returns to the Fox & Firkin to headline the event.
Theon Cross is a tuba player whose work has expanded the role of the instrument in modern music. Exploring diasporic bass culture, he has developed a broad sonic approach to the tuba. He released the EP Aspirations in 2015, the album Fyah in 2019, and Intra-I in 2021. He was a member of Sons of Kemet until 2022. He has appeared on albums by The Smile, Little Simz, Steamdown, Makaya McCraven, Joy Crookes, and Ill Considered.
Also performing will be neo-soul singer-songwriter Hillarynx. DJ set by Drezone, a multi-instrumentalist known for his work with Prince Party UK. Returning to Brockley Max are Arch 57, The Palindrones, Phoenix Outliers, Mr. Strutt, and Jez Kemp.
