Hang Massive

Hang Massive bring their handpan-led sound to Chalk in Brighton on 5 June 2026. Formed by Danny Cudd and Markus Offbeat, the duo have been central to the rise of the instrument since the early 2010s, folding shimmering handpan lines into warm electronics. On stage, their set moves between suspended, dream-like passages and more propulsive grooves, with two handpans interlacing over understated beats and melodic layers.

Their story took off in 2011 with the track and video Once Again, viewed tens of millions of times and opening the handpan to a wide audience. The project grew from a meeting on the shores of Goa to busking across European cities, then to festival slots and established venues worldwide, building a community of listeners along the way.

Live, Hang Massive focus on texture and repetition: soft pulses, long resonances and cyclical motifs that gradually evolve, touching ambient and downtempo influences without losing the physical feel of percussion. It’s a focused, immersive show shaped for listeners who want to sink into tone and rhythm rather than songs in a classic format.
