Weatherday

Weatherday lands at Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff on May 24, 2026, for a first show in the city. Led by Swedish artist Lola (also known as Sputnik), the project grew out of the online DIY scene and folds lo-fi emo, indie rock and shoegaze into a bedroom-built sound. The songs stretch and pivot, with layered guitars, saturated textures, jagged drums and filtered vocals; fragile motifs surface, then give way to rougher, noisier passages. Non-linear structures and abrupt transitions shape the writing, and the production embraces small imperfections that color the mood.

After early tracks circulated at the end of the 2010s, Weatherday defined its contours with the self-recorded album Come In in 2019. A collaborative release with Asian Glow in 2022, Weatherglow, pushed the palette toward denser, near post-rock territory, a thread picked up live as pieces expand, contract and recombine on stage. Lola also explores electronic and introspective ideas under the alias Lola’s Pocket PC, influences that slip into Weatherday’s textures and pacing.
