The Hoosiers: Signing

Info

The Hoosiers bring an intimate acoustic set and signing to Rough Trade Nottingham on 19 May 2026, marking the release of their new album, Compassion, on Crab Race. Stripped back to the essentials, the duo will showcase fresh material and revisit favorites from across their catalogue in a close-up format made for a record shop floor.

Formed in 2003 by Irwin Sparkes and Alan Sharland, The Hoosiers first cut their teeth in Indiana before returning to the UK and breaking through with sharp, melodic pop rock that sits between indie pop, piano-driven hooks and punchy choruses. After early success with The Trick to Life and The Illusion of Safety, they steered a more independent path with The News from Nowhere and The Secret Service, continuing as a duo and keeping their knack for direct, tuneful writing alive on Confidence in 2023. Compassion opens a new chapter; this in-store show lets those songs breathe in a raw, voice-and-guitar setting, with harmonies, stories from the road and the easy rapport that has kept The Hoosiers touring for two decades.
