Blue October

Blue October brings its Texas alt-rock to Vancouver on 26 February 2027 at the Commodore Ballroom. Formed in Houston in 1995 and later based in San Marcos, the band shapes guitar-driven songs with pop melody and a post-grunge edge, colored by violin, mandolin and piano. Around singer and songwriter Justin Furstenfeld, the long-running lineup includes Jeremy Furstenfeld, Ryan Delahoussaye and Matt Noveskey, a core that anchors the group’s mix of intensity and finesse.

The early years saw The Answers (1998) and Consent to Treatment (2000), followed by wider attention with History for Sale (2003) and Foiled (2006), marked by the singles Hate Me and Into the Ocean. The path since then runs through Approaching Normal, Any Man in America, Sway and Home to I Hope You’re Happy, This Is What I Live For and the Spinning the Truth Around trilogy (2022–2023). On stage, Blue October draws from this catalog with an intimate, candid writing style, shifting from driving rock to slow-burn ballads and more atmospheric cuts, carried by Justin’s voice and Ryan’s strings.
