Info
On 15 September 2026 at EartH Theatre, William Tyler brings his instrumental guitar work to London. A Nashville-born guitarist and composer, he cut his teeth touring with Lambchop and Silver Jews before stepping out under his own name. His solo pieces trace lines between American folk, atmospheric country and a contemplative strain often linked to cosmic country. On stage, his playing shifts from melodic vignettes to open-ended passages, using tone and resonance to sketch landscapes without lyrics.
Across Behold the Spirit (2010) and Impossible Truth (2013), Tyler shaped a narrative approach to the guitar that he kept exploring with Modern Country (2016) and Goes West (2019). He has also written for film, notably Kelly Reichardt’s First Cow (2020), and collaborated with Marisa Anderson on Lost Futures (2021). Time Indefinite (2025) extends that thread, bringing in subtle textures while keeping a direct, songlike voice. This concert at EartH Theatre focuses on the craft of instrumental storytelling, where melody, phrasing and space do the talking.
