Little Barrie

On 26 September 2026, Little Barrie plays Thekla, The Grove, East Mud Dock BS1 4RB, United Kingdom. Built around guitarist and singer Barrie Cadogan, the band has been carving a lean blend of garage rock, psychedelia, rhythm and blues, funk and soul since the late 1990s. Tight, rolling grooves, unfussy vocals and clear, melodic guitar lines define a trio formula that leaves room for swing and tension without the frills.

From early singles through We Are Little Barrie (2005), Stand Your Ground (2006), King of the Waves (2011) and Shadow (2015), the group shifted from sharp, direct riffs toward looser writing marked by blues and soul textures. After the passing of drummer Virgil Howe in 2017, Cadogan and bassist Lewis Wharton rekindled the project with Malcolm Catto for Quatermass Seven (2020) and Electric War (2025), before returning to the original name with Gravity Freeze (2024). On stage, Little Barrie threads these chapters together, moving between recent material and earlier tracks, with support.
