Info

Nation of Language bring their cool synth-pop and post-punk pulse to Village Underground, London, on 19 August 2026. Built around Ian Devaney’s voice, Aidan Noell’s keys and a bass that keeps everything moving, the Brooklyn trio threads bright arpeggios with a steady, danceable undertow. From the first spark of Introduction, Presence to the forward motion of A Way Forward and the deeper tones of Strange Disciple, their songs balance crisp hooks, motorik rhythms and a reflective mood that sits between late-night city drift and collective release. On stage, those textures tighten into lean arrangements where synths flicker, bass locks in and vocals carry the melodies just above the haze.

Special guests Friko open with a Chicago-bred blend of indie rock, art rock and chamber-pop gestures. The duo of Niko Kapetan and Bailey Minzenberger move between piano-led hush and guitar surges, stacking dynamic shifts and sharp rhythms. Their 2024 debut, Where We’ve Been, Where We Go From Here, set the tone: fragile choruses tipping into noise-tinged peaks before dropping back to clarity, always anchored by a pop sense that keeps the emotion close.
