Info
Cactus, Elie Semoun’s new show, sets the tone from the start. For 30 years he has been a fixture on the French stage with a sharp, offbeat sense of humor. His style blends subtlety and boldness. For his eighth show, stand-up now plays a larger role — a novelty for him. Yet Cactus remains true to his fondness for character sketches.
Among the gallery of new characters you will encounter Jean Abdul, who will open the show, a son who takes his father to visit a nursing home, Xavier — a man with a physical disability — who introduces his wife to his mother, a father facing his son’s transition, a racist karate instructor, and a perspective on sexual harassment and religion. With Cactus, Elie Semoun offers a vision of our society in which themes of intolerance, taboo and injustice are addressed unflinchingly.
The show will take place on August 18, 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Théâtre Robinson.
