Rival Consoles

Rival Consoles returns with a new audio-visual live show built around Landscape from Memory, his 2025 album on Erased Tapes. London-based producer Ryan Lee West has spent close to two decades shaping a distinctive, human take on synthesis, moving from early, raw electronics toward more fluid, conceptual work. His music leans into texture and dynamics, where melodic fragments and evolving rhythms carry as much weight as the beat.

On 15 May 2026 at The Liquid Room, Edinburgh, he presents a long-form set that threads material from across the last 15 years with new pieces. Expect a wide arc, from deep ambient passages to his restrained, driving version of techno, with gradual shifts rather than abrupt drops. Themes from past records surface and mutate, sketches unfold into full ideas, and familiar motifs are reframed for the stage. The performance is paired with live visuals co-created and performed by Sky Ainsbury, built to respond in real time to tone and tempo, turning the show into a single narrative that drifts, builds and resets without breaking its flow.
