Sunny Day Real Estate

Sunny Day Real Estate bring their singular mix of emo, alt-rock and post-hardcore to O2 Forum Kentish Town in London on 12 July 2026. Formed in Seattle in 1992, the band shaped a sound built on taut, melodic guitars, stark shifts in intensity and an introspective pulse, carried by Jeremy Enigk’s distinctive high register. After the Sub Pop era of Diary (1994) and the self-titled LP2 (1995), a first split sent Nate Mendel and William Goldsmith to Foo Fighters while Enigk pursued solo work. Reformed in 1997, they opened up their palette on How It Feels to Be Something On (1998) and The Rising Tide (2000), before another long pause.

Back on stage since 2022 with Chris Jordan on bass and the return of Greg Suran on guitar, the group has revisited its catalogue and unveiled Novum Vetus in 2024, a reworked piece from earlier sessions. Live, the interplay of tense melodies and calm-to-storm dynamics stays central, with Enigk’s voice threading through songs from the raw early years to the more expansive late period.
