Magnum

Magnum bring their melodic rock to The Garage in Glasgow on 2 October 2026. Formed in Birmingham in the early 70s around guitarist-composer Tony Clarkin and singer Bob Catley, the band built a sound that blends AOR, arena rock and storytelling songwriting, with clear guitars, prominent keyboards and big, singable refrains. Early records like Kingdom of Madness and Chase the Dragon set the tone; On a Storyteller’s Night pushed them onto bigger stages, followed by the slicker turn of Vigilante, Wings of Heaven and Goodnight L.A.

After a split in the 90s and a return in the 2000s, Magnum kept writing and touring steadily, from Breath of Life and Princess Alice and the Broken Arrow to The Visitation, Lost on the Road to Eternity and The Monster Roars. Here Comes the Rain in 2024 confirmed that balance between melody and punch. With the passing of Tony Clarkin in 2024, the group now carries on around Bob Catley, honouring a catalogue that spans decades. Expect a set that moves between early favourites and recent songs, all delivered with that narrative drive and choruses built for a room like The Garage.
