Islandman is the project of Istanbul producer Tolga Böyük with Erdem Başer on psychedelic guitar and Eralp Güven on percussion. The trio folds Anatolian roots into the present, where analog synths meet hand-played rhythms and ceremonial imagery. They call it neo‑Turkish psychedelia: not a re-creation of tradition, but a living language shaped by groove and texture.
Since Rest in Space (2017), they’ve expanded their palette with Kaybola (2020), Godless Ceremony (2021) and Popsicle Obstacle (2023). Their fifth album, Island5 (2025), channels the pace of Istanbul, moving between hushed ambient passages, tribal pulses and night-time panoramas. On stage, Islandman leans on repetition and intuition, building steady trances where past and future blur, and the music speaks as much to memory as to movement.
