The Jam

On 4 October 2026 at O2 Academy Oxford, From the Jam dives back into the sharp, melodic punch of The Jam’s songbook. Formed in Woking, The Jam — Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler — wired mod revival, punk urgency, new wave angles and power pop, with a clear pull from 60s beat, soul and rhythm and blues. They cut their teeth on covers before sharpening their own voice: tight, hook‑driven tracks with Foxton’s bass up front and lyrics grounded in everyday British life.

Between 1977 and 1982, the trio released six studio albums — In the City, This Is the Modern World, All Mod Cons, Setting Sons, Sound Affects and The Gift — moving from raw bite to more crafted, soulful textures without losing speed or focus. This show taps into that arc: early, high‑tempo blasts, late‑70s storytelling and the leaner, groove‑tinged cuts of the final phase. A concentrated tour through songs that still hit with pace, melody and a distinctly English edge, at O2 Academy Oxford.
