The Fisherman’s Friends bring the sound of Port Isaac’s harbour to Hall for Cornwall in Truro on 31 October 2026. This group of long-time friends keeps the shanty tradition alive with rich, unaccompanied harmonies, call-and-response choruses and stories drawn from Cornwall’s coast. Their set moves from work songs with the pull of the tide to bittersweet ballads, with plenty of big refrains you can pick up in a verse or two. Between numbers they trade easy banter and snippets of maritime lore, keeping the mood warm and communal, like a pub sing after a day at sea. Known from films and charting records, they keep it close to their roots: voices first, rhythm in the stomp of a boot, lift in the swell of a chorus. A Cornwall date that plays to their home waters, where the songs land with a familiar echo.
