CloseUp Festival’s Sunday bill at Colours Hoxton on 24 May 2026 puts the focus on artists shaping the UK’s indie landscape. Pale Blue Eyes, formed between Totnes and Sheffield, blend indie pop with light synth lines, dream-pop shades and post-punk undercurrents. The core duo Matt and Lucy Board, with bassist Aubrey Simpson and an extra guitar/keys on stage, draw from Souvenirs, This House and New Place, where clear melodies and a DIY touch meet a crisp rhythmic drive.
Only Real brings a laid-back, guitar-led sound that slides between spoken cadences and melodic hooks, a West London take on hazy pop with a street-level flow. Raised near Newcastle, Lizzie Esau pushes a sharper indie rock: tight riffs, tense choruses and lyrics that pick apart anxiety, relationships and everyday city noise, heard across EPs from Perspectives to Spilling Out The Truth.
Sandhouse, Slow Country and Alphabet complete the lineup, widening the palette around jangly guitars, pop instincts and left-of-center turns. A compact snapshot of the festival’s spirit of discovery, up close at Colours Hoxton.
