Detroit’s John Beltran brings his Placid Angles project to London for an intimate live set at Jazz Cafe on 20 June 2026. Active since the early 1990s, Beltran has shaped a melodic electronic language that moves between ambient, house and IDM, releasing on R&S, Peacefrog, Apollo and Delsin. From Ten Days of Blue to more recent work, his palette leans toward warm synths, patient harmonies and fluid rhythms.
For this show, Placid Angles turns inward: evolving pads, detailed drum programming and subtle textures draw out a contemplative, melodic space. Beltran revisits material from across his catalogue under his own name and as Placid Angles, reworked live with spacious arrangements and immersive sound design. It’s the first time the project is performed live in London, a focused set built on tone, movement and detail.
