Junior Brother is an idiosyncratic and lyrical singer-songwriter from County Kerry, Ireland. Born Ronan Kealy, he has built a following both at home and internationally, driven by live performances and a distinctive sound. Blending traditional Irish instrumentation with bold experimentation, his music has been described by KLOF Magazine as sounding like "birdsongs or Armageddon, sometimes within the bounds of a single song." His voice, variously described by The Quietus as "a cracked soul, a deranged howl, a bedazzling babble," is a hallmark of his work.
His third album, The End, released on 5 September, appeared on multiple 2025 year-end lists, including Time Out’s Best Albums of 2025. Junior Brother performs at The Horn, St Albans on 18 November 2026 at 8:00 pm.
