Soul II Soul

Soul II Soul bring their genre-blending street soul to O2 Academy Glasgow on 22 October 2026. Formed around producer, DJ and cultural catalyst Jazzie B in late-80s London, the collective grew out of a sound system and parties at the Africa Centre and the Fridge in Brixton. More a fluid crew than a fixed band, they weave soul, R&B, dance and hip-hop with reggae heritage and Caribbean, African and African-American influences.

Their early years set the tone with Club Classics Vol. One and the voices that carried it, notably Caron Wheeler on Keep On Movin’ and Back to Life (However Do You Want Me). Through the 90s, the lineup shifted with collaborators like Nellee Hooper, Simon Law, Kym Mazelle and Charlotte Kelly, shaping a catalogue that moves from supple grooves to club heat without losing its roots.

Back on the road since the late 2000s, Soul II Soul perform with Jazzie B at the center and vocalists such as Charlotte Kelly in rotation. Live, expect the signature singles alongside deeper cuts, delivered with the sound-system spirit that has defined the collective from the start.
