Kraftwerk bring their precision-built electronic show to Edinburgh Playhouse on 9 June 2026. Formed in Düsseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, the group shifted from early krautrock experiments to the lean, melodic mechanics of Autobahn, shaping the template of synth-pop and their self-defined robot pop. Mechanical rhythms, processed voices and themes of technology, mobility and modern life remain the backbone of their stage work.

Now led by Ralf Hütter, the live setup focuses on exact visual and audio synchronisation, with classic material reworked for the present. Sets often draw from Radio-Activity, Trans-Europe Express, The Man-Machine, Computer World, Electric Café and Tour de France, arranged with crisp beats and minimal hooks while images lock to every pulse. The result is a concert that revisits their catalogue through tight sequencing and clean design, tracing a direct line from their pioneering studio methods to today’s electronic sound.
