An Evening with Elles Bailey

On 16 October 2026, Exeter Phoenix hosts Elles Bailey. Born in Bristol, this independent singer-songwriter has established herself as a distinctive voice in British blues and Americana. Her deep, smoky register rests on songs rooted in soul, rock and country, with a storytelling flair that has made her a regular on the blues scene. A winner of several UK Blues Awards and an inductee of the UK Blues Hall of Fame, she keeps moving forward, alternating between road-tested energy and stripped-back ballads.

Following Beneath The Neon Glow in 2024, she continued in 2026 with her fifth album, Can’t Take My Story Away, produced by Luke Potashnick with contributions from Ethan Johns. Written over three years from sketches sometimes a decade old, the record climbed to the top of the jazz & blues charts, confirming a very personal shift—between rootsy grit and candid confessions. After touring alongside Rag’n’Bone Man in 2025, Elles Bailey comes to Exeter with this new repertoire and the songs that have marked her journey, from Wildfire to Shining in the Half Light and Beneath The Neon Glow. An evening to hear an artist who holds tradition and the present in a single breath, on the stage of Exeter Phoenix in Exeter.
