Gabrielle « The Hits »

Gabrielle brings The Hits to New Theatre Oxford in Oxford on 30 March 2027. Hackney-born and known for a clear, unadorned writing style and a supple voice, the British singer-songwriter moves with ease between R&B, pop and soul. She broke through in 1993 with Dreams, then anchored her place on the UK scene with Find Your Way and the self-titled Gabrielle in 1996, which featured Give Me a Little More Time and the duet If You Ever with East 17. The turn of the millennium saw a broader, more mature soul-pop on Rise (1999) and the widely known Out of Reach, recorded for Bridget Jones’s Diary in 2001. She carried on with Play to Win (2004) and Always (2007), before returning after a pause with Under My Skin (2018), Do It Again (2021) and A Place in Your Heart (2024).

This show looks back across three decades of songs: intimate ballads, melodic mid-tempos and understated R&B grooves. Dreams, Rise and Out of Reach naturally share space with later material, tracing a consistent thread in her catalogue. On stage, Gabrielle sticks close to what defines her writing and voice: direct melodies, steady rhythms and a storytelling feel that connects past and present.
