My New Band Believe

Wednesday, 4 November 2026 at Circolo Arci Bellezza in Milan My New Band Believe arrives, the new chapter from Cameron Picton following the dissolution of black midi in 2023. Not a conventional solo project but an open ensemble that changes shape from track to track and concert to concert, featuring guests from the British experimental scene such as Kiran Leonard, Caius Williams, Steve Noble and members of caroline.

From the edgy rock of his past, Picton moves toward a more acoustic mode of writing: English folk, baroque pop, chamber rock and experimental song intertwine in mobile forms. The compositions advance through contrasts—oblique narration, dynamics that swell and contract, collective arrangements that build and fall apart along the axis of interplay. On stage the sound remains essential yet rich in detail, with acoustic instruments to the fore and measured electric additions. The set highlights Picton’s taste for unstable structures and sharp imagery, within an ensemble that breathes like a living organism.
