SWMRS

On May 10, 2026 the Covo Club in Bologna welcomes SWMRS, a band of brothers from California. Born in the Oakland punk scene, Cole and Max Becker started the project as teenagers, building a sound that mixes punk rock, surf and alternative, with direct choruses and lyrics that address adolescence, internet culture and current affairs. After years as The Raining Brains and Emily’s Army and the albums Don’t Be a Dick (2011) and Lost at Seventeen (2013), they adopted the name SWMRS in 2014; Drive North (2016) consolidated the Bay Area’s DIY aesthetic, while Berkeley’s on Fire (2019) introduced more indie-leaning shades. Over time the lineup changed, culminating with younger brother Cade joining on bass in 2022, which made the family dimension the group’s creative core. On stage the trio drives tight tempos, sharp guitars and ear‑worm melodies, with a direct approach forged in independent clubs across the United States and Europe. In concert, the set draws from their early records and more recent tracks, alternating punk surges and melodic openings.
