Info
AFI plays Danforth Music Hall in Toronto on October 19, 2026. Formed in California’s early ’90s punk circuit, the band has moved from sprinting hardcore to a darker, melodic strain of alternative rock. The quartet’s chemistry pivots on Davey Havok’s incisive vocals and gang-chorus refrains, Adam Carson’s tight, driving drums, Hunter Burgan’s agile bass lines and Jade Puget’s guitar work that shifts from serrated riffs to gauzy atmospherics. Across records from Answer That and Stay Fashionable and Very Proud of Ya to Black Sails in the Sunset, Sing the Sorrow, Decemberunderground and later The Blood Album and Bodies, AFI has threaded punk urgency with choral layers, goth-shaded textures, synth touches and a tension-and-release dynamic that carries on stage.
Support comes from Choir Boy, the Salt Lake City outfit centered on Adam Klopp’s tremulous voice. Their songs blend dream-pop shimmer, new wave synths and clean, chiming guitars, leaning into slow tempos and reflective writing that play on nostalgia while keeping a contemporary, intimate feel.
