Samara Joy

On November 10, 2026 at La Seine Musicale in Boulogne-Billancourt, Samara Joy unfolded a vocal jazz rooted in gospel and the standards tradition. Born in the Bronx and a graduate of Purchase College, she first drew attention by winning the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2019, and later by receiving two Grammy Awards in 2023. Her warm-toned voice and flexible phrasing steer songs from the Great American Songbook toward personal nuances—between a velvety swing, restrained ballads and soulful surges.
