Info
Phil Elverum brings Mount Eerie to Button Factory in Dublin on 17 June 2026. Based in Anacortes, Washington, he adopted the Mount Eerie name in 2003 after pausing The Microphones, borrowing the title from a hill that overlooks his town. Since then he’s traced a path through indie folk, lo-fi and experimental writing, tied to Pacific Northwest landscapes, raw textures and a straightforward, diaristic voice.
Early releases like No Flashlight kept his handmade approach intact. Lost Wisdom with Julie Doiron and Frederick Squire opened a spare, close-harmony register, while Wind’s Poem folded in noise and black-metal-leaning swells. The 2010s stretched between the twin records Clear Moon and Ocean Roar and the steam-bath haze of Sauna. After the death of Geneviève Castrée, A Crow Looked at Me and Now Only shifted toward stark, autobiographical songs. The thread continues with Lost Wisdom Pt. 2 and, most recently, Night Palace (2024).
On stage, Mount Eerie moves between unadorned acoustic pieces and denser passages, with Elverum’s voice, guitar and room tone shaping songs that hover between whisper and surge.
