On 17 July 2026 at Live at Castle Mills in Kilkenny, Public Image Ltd. shares the bill with Ash for a night balanced between post-punk edges and sharp, melodic guitars. Formed by John Lydon in 1978, PiL has moved through dub pulses, experimental noise and wiry rhythms across a catalogue that runs from First Issue and Metal Box to The Flowers of Romance, This Is What You Want… and later comebacks This Is PiL, What the World Needs Now… and 2023’s End of World. Their set draws on a body of work that includes Public Image, Rise and This Is Not a Love Song alongside recent tracks.
Ash, the trio from Downpatrick formed in 1992 by Tim Wheeler, Mark Hamilton and Rick McMurray, lines up with tight, hook-driven rock that flips between pop-punk, power pop and indie energy. After the early spark of Trailer and the breakthrough of 1977, the group pushed on with Nu-Clear Sounds, Free All Angels and Meltdown, then returned to a trio format for Twilight of the Innocents and the A–Z singles project. The momentum continued with Kablammo!, Islands and Race the Night, keeping the focus on speed, melody and concise songwriting, from Girl From Mars to Burn Baby Burn and Shining Light.
