Info
Saint Etienne play 3Olympia Theatre, Dublin, on 22 September 2026. Formed in Croydon in 1990, the trio of Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs emerged from the early indie-dance scene, blending 60s British pop, melodic house, synthpop and dance pop into precise, melodic tracks. After Foxbase Alpha (1991) put them on the map, they leaned into more narrative writing on So Tough (1993), then widened the frame with Tiger Bay (1994), where folk shades met exploratory electronics. Good Humor (1998) shifted towards a warm, more organic pop, while Sound of Water (2000), recorded in Berlin with To Rococo Rot, explored ambient textures. Finisterre (2002) and Tales from Turnpike House (2005) tightened the links between their music, London and cinema, tracing a vivid urban memory. Along the way, collaborations have included Étienne Daho, Richard X, Xenomania and Kero Kero Bonito. Their catalogue keeps moving, through Words and Music (2012), Home Counties (2017), I’ve Been Trying to Tell You (2021), The Night (2024) and International (2025).
