The Exploited

On 2 May 2026 at Zaklęte Rewiry in Wrocław, The Exploited hit the stage with the no-frills punk that made their name. Born in late-70s Edinburgh and still driven by Wattie Buchan’s barked vocals, the band stands at the crossroads of UK82 street punk and hardcore. Their songs cut straight, fast and loud, built on clipped riffs, gang shouts and lyrics that point at social tension, unemployment and distrust of institutions.

The set digs into the early singles Army Life and Exploited Barmy Army and the first run of albums like Punk’s Not Dead, Troops of Tomorrow and Let’s Start a War, where the template was cast: sharp tempos, slogans you can yell, melodies that bite without polish. It also reaches into the heavier side they embraced later with The Massacre, Beat the Bastards and Fuck the System, when the guitars thickened and the pace leaned toward crossover thrash without losing the blunt edge of punk vocals.

Four decades on, The Exploited keep it direct and physical. No nostalgia pose, just songs built to be shouted back, a rhythm section that doesn’t let up, and a frontman who still treats the mic like a megaphone.
