Info
Deafheaven land at Slaktkyrkan in Johanneshov on August 26, 2026 for a set that traces their singular path between black metal, shoegaze and post-rock. Formed in San Francisco around vocalist George Clarke and guitarist Kerry McCoy, the band built its identity on long, contrast-heavy compositions where blast beats and harsh vocals collide with melodic guitars, wide atmospheres and moments that lean toward dream pop. Early releases set the tone, but it’s with Sunbather that their blend of intensity and clarity took shape, followed by New Bermuda and Ordinary Corrupt Human Love, which pushed more complex structures and contemplative moods.
On stage, this dialectic becomes the point: sudden ruptures, slow-burn crescendos, and a guitar work that shifts from razor-edged tremolos to hazy layers. Infinite Granite opened another chapter, with more clean vocals and shoegaze textures without dropping the underlying tension that runs through their catalog. Expect a set that moves fluently across these eras, balancing aggression and luminous harmonies, with the core duo steering a live sound that feels both precise and expansive.
