Kaleo - Way Down We Go Tour

Kaleo brings the Way Down We Go Tour to History Ottawa in Ottawa on September 9, 2026. Formed near Reykjavik in 2012, the Icelandic band sits at the crossroads of blues rock, folk and alternative, led by singer-guitarist Jökull “JJ Julius Son” Júlíusson with Davíð Antonsson, Daníel Kristjánsson and Rubin Pollock. After a first chapter at home, the group moved to the United States and deepened a roots-driven sound that balances electric riffs, acoustic space and a strong vocal presence. The album A/B (2016) set out their play between taut blues numbers and stripped ballads; Surface Sounds (2021) broadened the palette with more atmospheric touches while keeping a raw, road-shaped core.

On stage, Kaleo shifts from crunch to hush, weaving slide guitar and steady grooves with JJ’s voice moving from grainy low to bright falsetto. The set leans on songs in English and Icelandic, folding newer material into staples from A/B and Surface Sounds for a live narrative built on contrast and tension.
