Info

Strung Out marks three decades of Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues with a set rooted in the speed and precision that shaped their West Coast years. Formed in Simi Valley at the end of the 80s, the band blends melodic punk with metal and hardcore accents. Jason Cruz’s vocals cut through a twin-guitar framework built on tight riffs, agile harmonies and structures a notch more intricate than classic skate punk. From Another Day in Paradise and Twisted by Design to the darker turns of An American Paradox, Exile in Oblivion, Transmission.Alpha.Delta and Songs of Armor and Devotion, their trajectory balances urgency and melody. The anniversary spotlight brings back the 1996 material while connecting it to the technical edge they kept exploring afterward.

Belvedere brings a Calgary take on melodic hardcore: fast tempos, precise guitar work and vocal harmonies anchored in dense, shifting rhythms. Led by Steve Rawles, the band spans Angels Live in My Town to Hindsight Is The Sixth Sense, with arrangements built for quick turns and clean lifts, true to the DIY circuit that first carried their sound beyond Canada.

Strung Out and Belvedere play on May 8, 2026 at Rum Runners in London, Canada.
