Info
On 15 July 2026 at the Scène de Bayssan in Béziers, Queen Omega took the stage accompanied by The Royal Souls for a set rooted in Caribbean roots reggae. Born Jeneile Osborne in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, she shaped her style between church choirs and calypso competitions before turning to reggae and recording extensively with British producers. Her supple voice glides from melodic singing to more chanted, singjay-like phrasing, carried by roots riddims that open onto dancehall and soulful inflections. The lyrics—ranging from Rastafarian themes to social commentary and gender issues—find their place live, where precise diction and collective energy make every line stand out. The programme included signature songs and recent tracks from Freedom Legacy (2023), reshaped by the band’s expansive sound. The Royal Souls deliver an organic, precise sound, letting the bass and drums breathe and the arrangements support both surges of intensity and more meditative passages. A live show that crosses roots heritage with contemporary vibrations.
