John Butler

On July 22, 2026 at Le Dancing in Sète, John Butler brings his guitars for a set tailored for the stage. A singer-songwriter at the crossroads of folk, blues and a very organic groove, he blends precise picking, taut riffs and lyrics that are both socially conscious and intimate. He is responsible for standout tracks such as “Zebra” and “Better Than,” and for the instrumental “Ocean,” which has become a reference for guitar enthusiasts. For more than twenty years he has been shaping a broad acoustic sound in which pulse and melody take center stage.

He arrives with PRISM, the third installment of his Four Seasons project, alongside Running River (meditative pieces) and Still Searching (entirely instrumental). On stage, PRISM recaptures a direct energy, driven by a new band: Michael Barker on drums, Ian Peres on bass and keyboards, and Michael Boase on percussion. The live show alternates recent material with revisited classics, stretches the grooves, opens spaces for improvisation, and puts his guitar signatures back at the core.
