Recordando a Paco de Lucía comes to Sala Apolo in Barcelona on 12 September 2026. Leading the bill are three guitarists who grew up in the master's wake and who now converse from a place of tradition and personal exploration: Diego del Morao, heir to the Jerez style and son of Moraito Chico; Josemi Carmona, a member of the Carmona dynasty and son of Pepe Habichuela, whose path crosses flamenco with contemporary sonorities; and Antonio Sánchez, Paco’s nephew and a presence on his final tours. Together they trace a map of palos (flamenco forms) and nuances where each falseta (melodic phrase) breathes compás (rhythmic pulse) and memory, and every encounter between them leaves room for risk and attentive listening.
They are accompanied by Piraña, percussionist and longtime companion of Paco de Lucía, who sustains and drives the pulse with creativity. On vocals, David de Jacoba, from Motril, and Montse Cortés, a Barcelona-born voice with a deep timbre, add color and space to the ensemble. The programme revisits emblematic pieces from Paco’s repertoire and sets them in dialogue with original compositions, adapted to each artist’s idiom, creating a concert that celebrates the legacy from the present.
