Carmen Maria Vega returns to the stage. A multifaceted, nonconformist artist, she performs selected older songs and blends them with new, original pieces of her own writing. She appears as a duo with musician Antoine Rault (Lescop, Forever Pavot, Vox Low), bassist, guitarist and arranger. Reinventing and mixing styles, she is rock, chanson and electro at once, becoming for the duration of the show Carmen Ultra.
For 18 years she has alternately worked as a stage director, actress, author, filmmaker and singer. Her voice can be like a caress. She loves to enchant you, with a sly smile and 12-centimeter heels. Leather, satin and velvet. Her repertoire revisits the Carmens of yesterday to tell the Carmen of today.
In this show, Carmen Maria Vega’s voice evokes femininity and the freedom to be oneself, for Carmen Ultra.
